I'm sure this will fall under the category of dumbest comment ever - but I am impressed with the way she plays without looking at her hands!

My (almost) 9 yr old is taking piano lessons and its look at the notes, look down and play them, look up at notes, look down and play. Lots of pausing. But huge improvement in the 8 months she's been taking.

How long has/did Danya take piano? At what point did you realize she was gifted?

Danya started taking piano when she turned six. I can't say at what point I knew she was gifted--I am so typical in that I think all my children are gifted and started thinking that when they were conceived! That's a mom thing!

Other people started noticing when she was around 12. :)

And that is definitely not a dumb comment!

Wow, that was really good! I would love to play the piano, and the guitar. How many instruments can she play? And do you play the piano? I'm probably taking piano lessons when co-op starts again.

Hi Kelsey!

Danya plays piano and guitar. I play the piano, but not like she does! I think the piano is a great instrument. David took a semester, and now he plays bass. Derek took for over a year, but now he plays drums. The piano is a great instrument to serve as a foundation for anything you want to play! I hope you enjoy taking it at your co-op!

Yeah, I've heard poeple say that if you learn how to play the piano, then other instruments are easier. I was going to do band in 6th grade at public school, but they didn't let me because I'm slower at learning.....
