Last week I had an incredible opportunity to hang out at a photo shoot for ParentLife magazine! The pictures will accompany an upcoming article that I wrote on mompreneurs--mothers who establish their own businesses and work from home. Several of the gals that I interviewed for the article were local to Middle Tennessee, so we headed out to Franklin, just south of Nashville, for the shoot.

My favorite part of the day was meeting Melanie McGaughey--photographer, writer, blogger, and owner of the Velvet Trunk--and such a precious woman of God! This gal just shines for Christ, and His spirit is BIG in her teeny little self! She is adorable!

It was so much fun watching the ladies interact and talk shop: their husbands, kids, weddings, pregnancies, and then, finally... their home businesses! Isn't that just like us moms? No matter what we do, we talk about our families first, our work second! Sitting around the table while the camera clicked away, these moms formed instant friendships while the coffee and tea got cold. I wish it was that easy all the time, don't you?

One mom mentioned how special it was to get out of the house for a while and be with other adults! That's when I heard the comment, "Yeah, for an accurate photo shoot of mompreneurs, we should probably be sitting at home with our pj's on!" :)
