Scripture is Key to Revealing the Truth of Christ

Hey Everybody,

When it comes to telling others about Jesus, Scriptures are the key to revealing the Truth of salvation. “If I share the Gospel with an unbeliever, it makes no sense at all,” shares Morel, author of Secret to an Open Door: Igniting a Passion for the Lost, “until God reveals Himself.” Christians who are familiar with the Gospel message often forget how incredulous it sounds to someone who is lost. The Bible explains, “The revelation of Your words brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced” (Psalm 119:130). Salvation and hope in Jesus is a mystery that can only be revealed by the truth of God’s Word. It's not your words that will sear the stubborn soul and soften a hard heart--it's His!

“Scripture reveals the mystery, convicts the sin, and converts the soul,” Morel explains. “You can’t share the Gospel apart from the Word of God.”
So how can you get Scripture into an unbeliever’s hands?
  • Invest in greeting cards that include Scripture verses. Send an encouraging note.
  • Give Bibles as gifts.
  • Start a neighborhood Bible study in your home.

Of course, Mom, your greatest mission field is under your feet. Are you getting the truths of Scripture into your children, investing in their eternal souls? A few of my favorite resources for helping you do that in your daily parenting are:

Remember, when you yourself know God's Word, through studying and memorizing Scripture, you will find it flowing naturally into your conversations with your kids, your friends, and the people God puts in your path.

We LOVE Wise Words!! When I say we I mean me of course!!

One thing I did this year was I made 2 big posters and hung on the wall with Scripture(s) on each. The first Scripture was Galatians 5:22 and the other was Exodus 20:12and Ephesians 6:1. At the bottom of the first one, which was Galatians 5:22, I listed each of the Fruits of the Spirit with a definition for that fruit, and on the second one, Exodus 20:12 & Ephesians 6:1 I listed the words honor and obey with a definition for each. When the children disobeyed one of the "fruits" in these verses (which covers A LOT) they had to write that verse and the definition of the "fruit" they had disobeyed usually 5 times. And since we homeschool our children we hung them on the wall in our school room as a gentle reminder!

This was a way of telling them that not only were they being disobedient to us as parents but also to God as their Heavenly Father.
